The stainless steel allows this burner to be installed in an outdoor fireplace. Only stainless steel is allowed to be installed outdoors, because it is the only material that will not rust or degrade from the weather. This burner system features an exclusive stainless steel "booster grid" that acts as a catalyst to increase the intensity of the fire.
